Us...

OK, so you want to know a little about who we are.  Here goes...

I'm Mike, or Michael, whichever you prefer (I really don't have a preference).  I have quite a mixed background, but I won't bother you with details.  Suffice it to say that I currently work as a PC instructor at Tucson Electric Power Company, where I've been since September of 1997.  That's what I do for a living.  My interests and off-hours pursuits, however, reflect my academic and personal interests...

My most recent degree is from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, where I graduated in 1996 with an M.A. in Linguistics (the link to WSU is to their Linguistics program).  Before that (in 1982) I received an M.A. in New Testament Greek from Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon.  Between those dates I've worked as a pastor, writer, programmer, and educator.

Luna has a much more stable background than I do.  She is currently busily engaged in correspondence, reading, and research.  She is from South Africa where her family lives (a sister, three brothers, their spouses/children, and her wonderful parents Lu and Minnie van der Walt).   Luna is a talented linguist with a Ph.D. from the University of South Africa (UNISA) and the prerequisite degrees before that (M.A., Honors, and B.A.).  Luna worked for 9 years in the Department of Linguistics at UNISA before coming to the USA.

Together we are actively involved in our church -- Saguaro Canyon Evangelical Free -- here in Tucson, helping in the teaching ministries there.  We also participate in linguistics as opportunities arise, including book reviews and personal research.   Some of our work can be viewed through links from our home page.
